Experience

Their high intensity interval training workout uses heart-rate monitors to track progress over a 60 minute session.
However, beginner workouts can be tough. Classes typically begin by having members select either a treadmill, rower or weight bench before being led through exercises using BOSU balls, medicine balls, dumbbells, TRX straps and ab dollies by an experienced coach.
Orangetheory may not be ideal for everyone, but it does provide a range of classes in an encouraging and supportive setting. Their trainers are highly knowledgeable and encouraging – dedicated to helping their clients reach their goals of losing weight or improving performance. However, be mindful that Orangetheory can be costly and daunting for newcomers.

Orangetheory is a science-backed, technology-enabled, coach-inspired group workout designed to deliver results from within. This workout incorporates heartpumping cardio and muscle-building strength training exercises into its program for maximum calorie burning potential after class has concluded – up to 36 hours post class!
The workout uses heart rate zones and strives to have you spend 12 to 20 minutes in higher orange or red zones – the sweet spot of maximum calorie burning and “afterburn”.
Each class starts off with a warmup, followed by two sets of floor exercises using TRX straps, benches, free weights, resistance bands, BOSU trainers and AB Dollys. Our coaches offer thorough demonstrations and verbal cues so you can complete each exercise correctly.
Orangetheory trainers boast extensive fitness expertise, and must complete a rigorous training program in order to become certified coaches at their gym. However, they do not offer personalized or one-on-one instruction during classes – something which may prove frustrating for new members who need help mastering certain exercises.
Time commitment
Orangetheory classes differ from traditional gyms by being 60 minutes long and held in group training settings. Each participant wears a heart monitor, providing instructors with real-time biometric data of how each participant is performing in class and tracking their progress over time. Furthermore, participants can compete against one another and view their stats through an Orangetheory mobile app which may serve to keep themselves accountable while keeping competition alive! This may motivate people who enjoy competition.
